Technical Maintenance Training

This series of courses is designed to provide the necessary knowledge about electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on LeTourneau mining machines. Technicians attending factory courses are given hands-on practice troubleshooting procedures as well as routine maintenance tasks on full size propulsion and LINCS® simulators. This training is implemented on-site at the Factory Training Facility located at LeTourneau headquarters in Longview, Texas. Courses are offered through two distinct levels.

Level I courses

These courses are designed to familiarize new LeTourneau technicians with the machine main and subsystems.  Each Level I course is two days long and addresses 24VDC/LINCS; Mechanical/Hydraulic/Air; and Propulsion.

Level II courses

These courses build upon knowledge acquired during Level I courses.  Within these classes, technicians who have completed Level I courses will spend time testing their skills with simulator mock-ups. This training provides in-depth analysis of Propulsion, LINCS, and Hydraulic systems.

All in all, this comprehensive training program helps ensure experienced technicians can utilize their knowledge to assist in minimizing machine downtime by locating and repairing any problems in the least amount of time.

Location and Facilities

Our Factory Training Facility, located in Longview, Texas, is up-to-date settings complete with digital projection classrooms and a recently expanded lab area. This lab area includes a working diesel electric powered propulsion system for several types of equipment, as well as a fully functional conventional marine crane simulator.  The facility also offers a board-mounted hydraulic system simulator, a VSM system for loaders, and a digital LINCS™ training system.
