N. Pharr Smith named Senior Vice President and General Manager, Offshore Products and Drilling Systems of LeTourneau Technologies, Inc.

 
 
Houston, Texas - September 20, 2010

LeTourneau Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce that N. Pharr Smith has joined the company as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Offshore Products and Drilling Systems.

Mr. Smith brings to LeTourneau over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, providing design and engineering services to offshore businesses. He most recently served as Vice President of Engineering and Technical Support at Transocean, Ltd, where his responsibilities included engineering services, marine support, upgrade and major repair project management, maintenance and field support services, and new construction activities. Mr. Smith began his career at Avondale Shipyards as a naval architect in the company's hull design department. He subsequently joined Marathon LeTourneau, where he held various positions in engineering management. He served as Vice President for the then Marine Group and led the company's engineering, parts sales and offshore service functions. Mr. Smith holds BSE and MSE degrees in Naval Architecture from the University of Michigan. He is also a graduate of the Rice University Jones Graduate School Executive Management Program.

Mr. Smith will report to Thomas Burke, President & CEO of LeTourneau Technologies, Inc., and will oversee the commercial responsibilities for the Offshore Products and Drilling Systems strategic business units, including sales, engineering, product support, and project management.

Burke stated, "Pharr will be a key strategic leader at LeTourneau. His past experience in management roles and knowledge of engineering practices will bring the necessary leadership skills and expertise to accomplish LeTourneau's strategic goals."
